Cerro Tronador, the highest peak in the surroundings of Bariloche and the only one which snow and ice cover the ground throughout the year due to the glaciers in its Summit.
We leave Bariloche southwards along a scenery route that borders the banks of lakes Gutierrez and Mascardi. When crossing the bridge over the Manso river, you arrive at Pampa Linda , where we have lunch. You will be amazed by waterfalls and cascades, unspoilt wilderness, on a trail that ends at the foot of Mount Tronador , the highest mountain in the National Park, that takes its name from the thundery sound (Tronador – Thundering) of the glacial ice that cracks and thunders. From this point you will see the Ventisquero Negro , the black glacier, named for its striking black color.
